#BoomPH Social Media Day 2...

PH is one of the early adopters of blogging and social media, though relatively with smaller internet population compared w/ it’s ASEAN neighbours, PH was recognised as the social media capital and home to at least one of the selfie capitals of the world.

With the high penetration rate of mostly young professionals and students, with PH backdrop of liberal democracy; a cybercrime law that is still in its infancy stage; and no cyber bullying and bullying law that covers adult victims and offenders, cyber abuses is not far behind. Among the common abuses we observed and received feedback from are:

Identity theft/Poser accounts
Hacking

Social Engineering: Do Not...

Social Engineering is one of the fave approaches of cyber criminals to deceive people. If employees are untrained, companies can be a victim of a cybercrime; Similary, if parents and kids are untrained, they will likely fall to cyber abuse and/or led to cyberbullying.

Workplace Bullying

It’s similar to bullying but not the same. Workplace or office bullying is more classy in the sense that the objective is defined before the aggression starts. The aggression, though obviously felt by the victim, is carefully executed by the aggressor, so as not to be considered a violation of the company code of conduct.
